  1. Celebrate the Solar Eclipse at Happy Hollow Park & Zoo

    August 21, 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM

    All of North America will be treated to an eclipse of the sun on Monday, Aug. 21, 2017. Happy Hollow Park & Zoo (HHPZ) will open at 9:00 a.m. for guests wishing to view the eclipse from within the gates and will distribute a limited supply of special viewing glasses courtesy of our partners, Happy Hollow Foundation and Rotary Club of San José, starting at 10:00 a.m. Attendees can enjoy a viewing area set up in HHPZ’s meadow, along with various family activities until 12 noon. Glasses will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Even without special viewing glasses, come see how the animal residents react to "night time in the day time"! The eclipse will begin at 9:05 a.m. and peak in San José at 10:15 a.m., when the moon obscures 74% of the sun. Happy Hollow Members receive free admission for this event and regular admission will apply to non-members.     SHOW-N-SHINE OPEN TO ALL PRE-1980 CUSTOM CARS, CLASSIC CARS, HOT RODS, ANTIQUE VEHICLES, LOWRIDERS & TRADITIONAL CRUISERS Almaden Lake would like to welcome you to our 2nd Annual Graffiti Night Classic Car Show! This year the event will be taking place on August 25th from 6-9pm. The car show will be solely focused around your favorite timely, vintage, and one-of-a-kind classics while featuring food trucks and music for the entire family.
