  1. Downtown Ice

    November 17, 2017 - January 15, 2018 @ Circle of Palms

    For the 8th executive year, the San Jose Downtown Association and their partners, Kristi Yamaguchi’s Always Dream Foundation and Hawaiian Airlines, will be hosting the South Bay’s largest outdoor skating rink through the holiday season. People of all ages are welcome to experience the outdoor skating rink at the Circle of Palms between the Fairmont Hotel and San Jose Museum of Art.

  2. Sonic Runway

    November 20, 2017 - January 19, 2018 @ San Jose City Hall

    The City of San José Office of Cultural Affairs in collaboration with Burning Man Project present Sonic Runway by Rob Jensen and Warren Trezevant as the first artwork selected for the Playa to Paseo initiative. Sonic Runway is a light-art installation that visualizes the speed of sound. The artwork is 432 feet long and stretch across a city block between 4th and 5th streets in front of San José City Hall, 200 E. Santa Clara Street, San Jose, CA 95113. Sonic Runway converts audio signals into a pattern of lights that shoot down a corridor of arches at the speed of sound, (1235kph /767mph). Live audio input is analyzed and converted into intricate patterns that shoot down the corridor with sound and lights in sync. The artwork can be be viewed nightly from 5:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. through January 2018.

    Together with the Downtown Ice and Christmas in the Park, the Winter Wonderland offers a whole section of holiday attractions for the entire family. Everyone can enjoy amusement rides and an arcade of fun and entertainment at the event.

  1. Bascom Toy Drive

    December 1, 9:00 AM - December 15, 6:00 PM @ Bascom Community Center

    The Bascom Community Center and Library, in collaboration with the Bill Wilson Center, will host a Toy Drive during the month of December. Toys and games will be distributed by the Bill Wilson Center to families in need. Drop off donations of new toys and games for ages 5 to 17 at the Bascom Community Center front office.
