Businesses can begin planning and organizing now so they are ready to help promote the Census next February and March.

EMPLOYEE COMMUNICATION

Use sample newsletter articles about the Census for publication in employee communications and on your organization’s intranet sites.
Post posters or flyers highlighting the Census on employee and public bulletin boards. To request Census posters, please email SanJose2010Census@sanjoseca.gov.

CUSTOMER OUTREACH

Add a link from your Web site to the City of San Jose’s census site
Mention the Census in your direct mail campaigns.
Include a Census message in your billing information.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH

Present information about the Census sponsored meetings and events.
Serve as a spokesperson for the Census in your community
Sponsor a Census event in your community.
In March 2010: Use exterior signage to encourage everyone to complete the Census form.
On April 1, 2010: Use exterior signage to announce National Census Day.
