PRNS Hosts Almaden Winery Rose Park Volunteer Project

With January as the best time to prune roses, local Almaden residents from Saint Anthony’s Catholic Church, as well as, neighbors and other dedicated volunteers accomplished the essential job of pruning roses at the Almaden Winery Rose Park on Saturday, January 21, 2017. After a training session with our lead Adopt-A-Park volunteer, the eager volunteers pruned 257 rose bushes. Along with completing a valuable project, the volunteers enjoyed a vigorous workout, bending, and stretching to prune each rose cane. While the skies looked ominous all morning, the rains held off until after the project was completed. The rose bushes are now ready for spring growth and blooms, which will create a charming gathering spot for the residents to enjoy! For more information, please contact Justin Long, PRNS Deputy Director, at (408) 793-5579.
