Notice of Funding Availability for the Saint James Park and Urban Activation Grant Program

The Department of Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Services (PRNS) is accepting grant applications for the Saint James Park and Urban Activation Grant Program to establish a well-qualified pool of agencies experienced in providing placemaking activities that match community needs. Qualified service providers may be selected to enter a grant agreement to provide activities on an as-needed basis. The goal of the Saint James Park and Urban Activation Grant is to work in partnership with both community based organizations and private entities to transform the park and other urban parks and facilities into vibrant public spaces. Applicants may outline multi-element programs that combine some or all of the following service categories: Fitness and Recreation; Interactive Enrichment and Visual Art Activities; Family Oriented Performance Art; Special Event Production; Community Engagement and Learning Opportunities; and Park Enhancement and Capitol Project Prototyping. To register and apply, please go to http://grants.sanjoseca.gov/index.jsp. Completed applications can only be submitted on-line through WebGrants. Proposals must be submitted by 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 29, 2017. For more information, contact Neil Rufino, PRNS Acting Deputy Director, at (408) 535-3576.
