Camden Community Center Shaken by New Workshop

The Department of Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Services (PRNS) recently offered its first ShakeXperience workshop at the Camden Community Center. This new course gave theater enthusiasts a program where they could creatively express themselves through inspired improvisational training and staged readings. John McCluggage, former Associate Artistic Director of San Jose Repertory Theatre, directed the course, and each class meeting started with an idea, but never an agenda, allowing the participants the ability to take ownership and drive the program. Participants worked diligently each week for two months to prepare for their final performance, and the passion they displayed during their performance was visibly present. Over 30 guests and 16 participants attended the final performance at the center on Wednesday, April 5th. A special thank you to the program sponsors Aroha Philanthropies, Artful Aging and SVCREATES. For more information, please contact Neil Rufino, PRNS Acting Deputy Director, at 408-535-3576.
