Camden’s Community Center’s Camp San José

The Department of Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Services Camden Community Center provided an unforgettable summer experience for children with its Camp San José program, by combining summer camp traditions with enriching and educational activities. Activities incorporated educational features disguised as fun and entertaining projects. Due to the popularity of this program, Camp San José at Camden split into two different age groups for the second year in a row, maximizing its potential to meet the needs of the community. More than 950 children were enrolled over the last eight weeks of summer, from June 19 through August 11. During that time, children experienced play, used self-expression and creative thinking, attended field trips, read, and enjoyed creating memories to share with friends and families. Many thanks go out to the children who kept the Camden staff smiling all summer and the families who allowed Camp San José to provide this amazing experience for their children. For other class offerings, please visit Camden Community Center or visit For more information, please contact Neil Rufino, PRNS Acting Deputy Director, at 408-535-3508.
