Park Rangers Host a Moonlight Walk at Kelley Park

Park Rangers of San Jos?’s Department of Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Services hosted a Moonlight Walk Event at Kelley Park on Friday, August 8. Co-hosted by Keep Coyote Creek Beautiful, Happy Hollow Park and Zoo’s Education Department, and the Santa Clara County Open Space Authority, approximately 150 guests of all ages were given a free program including informative walks along Coyote Creek, a tour of the under-repair Japanese Friendship Garden, as well as a chance to visit with a Great Horned Owl and other fascinating animals. This fun and educational family event also included a chance to make S'mores at a camp fire and, for those with a competitive spirit, spitting watermelon seeds in honor of National Watermelon Month. For more information, please contact Justin Long, PRNS Deputy Director, at 408-793-5579.
