Town Hall Meeting: Climate Smart San José

Climate Smart San Jose
The City will host a town hall meeting to inform the community about Climate Smart San José (CSSJ), on Tuesday, February 20, from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in Council Chambers at San José City Hall, located at 200 E. Santa Clara St.

CSSJ, formerly known as the Environmental Sustainability Plan, is a City of San José initiative to reduce greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) and ensure a long-term water supply. Climate Smart San José will make San José a climate leader, putting the City on a path to meet GHG reduction targets under the Paris climate agreement. The plan has three components: energy, mobility and water.

The City will release a draft of the plan this month. Residents are encouraged to provide their feedback at that time by visiting the Climate Smart San José website at www.sanjoseca.gov/cssj

The town hall meeting will inform the community about the plan and give residents an opportunity to ask questions. The City Council will consider adopting the plan on Feb. 27.

The Environmental Services Department has conducted extensive outreach to the community in drafting the plan, holding 12 public meetings and six technical workshops since 2017.

The City values your feedback in creating Climate Smart San José and encourages your participation. For more information, visit www.sanjoseca.gov/cssj. To sign up for notifications about CSSJ, click here.
