CIP Monthly Status Report – May 2018

Large electric blowers at the San Jose-Santa Clara Regional Wastewater Facility
In May, the Blower Improvements Project advanced through Stage Gate 5: Authorization to Bid, and the City received Statements of Qualifications (SOQs) for the Digested Sludge Dewatering Facility Project. The Treatment Plant Advisory Committee and City Council approved award of the Advanced Facility Control and Meter Replacement – Phase 1 Project construction contract and accepted an annual update report on Discharge Regulations and Future Impacts on the Wastewater Facility. The City executed the Definitive Contract Amendment for the Cogeneration Facility Project. The Iron Salt Feed Station Project contractor successfully completed operational testing of the new ferric chloride and polymer dosing facilities and achieved Beneficial Use. The Headworks Critical Improvements Project contractor successfully completed operational testing of the new headworks bar screens and Emergency Basin Overflow Structure facilities. The Plant Instrument Air System Upgrade Project contractor completed all connections and initial testing of the new air compressor system. The Digester and Thickener Facilities Upgrade Project contractor started full-time operation of a temporary pumping and pipeline system to allow the replacement of the corroded 78-inch settled sewage pipeline to begin.
