Share your Opinion by Taking the Mayor and City Council Compensation Survey

The San José Council Salary Setting Commission wants to hear from you through the first-ever Mayor and City Council Compensation Survey.
The Commission recently released the online survey to gather input from residents regarding the level of salaries and benefits that the Mayor and City Council receives.

The on-line survey is available through the City Clerk’s website at: www.sanjoseca.gov/survey.

By April 30, 2011, the Commission will issue a report and recommend the Council’s compensation for the period

July 1, 2011 through June 30, 2013.  The online survey’s findings will be included in this report. The Commission’s recommendations will include salary, automobile allowance, and benefits for San Jose’s elected officials.

Information concerning the Commission’s agendas is also available through the City Clerk’s website
at: http://www.sanjoseca.gov/clerk/CommissionBoard/Salary/2011Salary.asp.

About the Council Salary Setting Commission:  The Council Salary Setting Commission is established in the San Jose City
Charter and is appointed by the Civil Service Commission. The Commission meets every two years, in odd-numbered years, to establish compensation for the City’s elected officials for the following two-year period. The Commission’s recommendations for the Mayor and City Council’s compensation will be presented to the City Council by April 30, 2011.
