Welcome to the Office of the City Attorney for the City of San Jose.

The Office of the City Attorney serves as legal counsel to San Jose's city government. Our clients include the Mayor, City Council, and the city’s various Departments, Boards, and Commissions. The Office also serves as General Counsel to the San Jose Redevelopment Agency.

My Office is committed to providing excellent legal services to our clients, and supporting their efforts to better serve the citizens of the City of San Jose. I am proud to have a diverse staff of highly talented professionals with the expertise to provide comprehensive legal services for a wide range of issues facing our dynamic city.

We strive to efficiently manage resources to meet the daily operational needs of our clients in a cost-effective and timely manner, while building the internal capacity to flexibly respond to the City’s ever changing legal needs.
