Members Sought for New Cable Access Board

San José, California – A new San José non-profit is seeking interested community members to serve on its initial Board of Directors. The San José Community Media Corporation will be the organization that manages cable access for use by our city’s educational and public institutions as well as individual members of the public.

The City of San José is currently negotiating a new cable franchise agreement. Among other goals for these negotiations, the City expects to create significant new opportunities for public and educational efforts to communicate using the cable system.

Any San José resident, or employee of a nonprofit organization serving San José residents is eligible to apply. Deadline for application is June 1, 2001. For an application, or for more information about the San José Community Media Corporation, contact the City of San José at (408) 277-8829.
