Dear Friends,
I was excited to get a sneak peak at the New Happy Hollow Zoo and thrilled to be celebrating the “Grand Opening” of Happy Hollow Park and Zoo on Saturday, March 20th. We will be celebrating the completion of a two year renovation that expands the facility from 12 to 16 acres allowing for new animal habitats, new adventure play areas, new amusement rides and an exciting education complex that is a major focal point of the build out. With the renovation, Happy Hollow will apply for the Silver L.E.E.D. certification (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design). When completed, Happy Hollow Park & Zoo could be the first L.E.E.D certified park and zoo facility in the U.S.
Some family favorites remain like the Mini Putt-Putt cars and the Granny Bug rides. The popular Puppet Castle Theater received a facelift and new seating. The signature Danny the Dragon ride will be part of the new Happy Hollow experience, he’ll just be “greener”.
I got so excited about this wonderful, whimsical asset for our children and community that I am offering a challenge grant to the Zoo. I will match every dollar raised up to $10,000. If Happy Hollow meets the goal of $10,000 then I will donate another $5,000. I invite you to visit Happy Hollow and to also make a donation to the Happy Hollow Park & Zoo Foundation. Contact Heather Lerner, Executive Director of the HHPZ Foundation at 408-277-3498 or www.HHPZ.org.
.Thank you for your interest,
