Emergencies occur occasionally and disasters may strike at any time. You and your family can become more self-supporting and self-sustaining through advance preparation and training. San Jose Prepared! helps you to be better prepared for everyday emergencies, as well  to plan for large disasters. Lectures and hands-on instruction address the following:

  • How can my family/neighborhood be organized for emergency response?
  • What is the safety way to use a fire extinguisher?
  • How should large numbers of victims be prioritized for medical care?
  • What is the proper way to conduct search and rescue?
  • How can you become aware of potential terrorism threats?

Individuals and neighborhood groups are welcome to become part of San Jose Prepared!

If you are at least 18 years old and live or work in San Jose, please join now. For more information, go to the class calendar or leave a message on the San Jose Prepared! line at (408) 277-4598. Let's work together to get San Jose Prepared!
