Pollution Prevention for Residents

Water from tubs, toilets, and taps inside homes travels through pipes to the San Jose/Santa Clara Water Pollution Control Plant where it is treated and then discharged into the southern San Francisco Bay (Bay). Proper disposal of household hazardous waste keeps pollutants out of the sanitary sewer system and protects the health of our communities and the Bay.
