Grace Community Center

The Grace Community Center, located in downtown San Jose, is a therapeutic recreation center which serves adults with Mental Illness and other Cognitive Disabilities.  The Center provides drop-in recreation programs, and the more structured Day Rehabilitation program.  Our goal is to serve the social, recreation and therapeutic needs of adults with mental illness.

You must become a member of the Center in order to participate in all activities located on the premises, with the exception of Monthly Dances and Annual Special Events (offered in October, November, and December).  There is a $5 lifetime membership fee.  Most activities are free with membership unless otherwise noted.

Drop in activities include art groups, process and support groups, nutrition, and programs which teach daily living skills.  We also offer access to fitness equipment, a computer lab, a pool table; and other lounge type areas where you can relax with music, television, or just socialize with other members.

The Center also offers volunteer opportunities.  To learn about opportunities for students and other community members, contact Jo Eclevia at 408-293-0422.  We also provide opportunities for those needing to fulfill Court Ordered obligations.  For more information on Court Ordered volunteer opportunities, please contact Teresa Easley at 408-293-0422.

Internship opportunities are available for students studying in the fields of Marriage and Family Therapy, and Art Therapy.  For more information, contact Debbie Reynolds, LMFT, ATR-BC at 408-794-7590.
