  By practicing fiscal responsibility, Mayor Reed has worked to preserve core city services when faced with chronic budget deficits.

   

Community Budget Survey

Since taking office, Mayor Reed has introduced a community-based budgeting process that seeks a wide array of public input to help him develop his budget messages. This process is kicked-off each year with a survey of San José residents’ attitudes, opinions and budget priorities.
