Mayor Chuck Reed and Dr. Charles Weis, County Superintendent of Schools, announc the launch of SJ2020, an initiative to eliminate the achievement gap in San José by 2020. The City of San José, the Santa Clara County Office of Education, charter schools, colleges, businesses, nonprofit community agencies, and the city’s most impacted school districts joined together in making San José the first large urban area in the nation to elinate the achievement gap within this decade.
