Minimum Wage Ordinance
IMPORTANT: Starting January 1, 2025, the City of San Jose's Minimum Wage will be $17.95 per hour.
Voters approved the minimum wage ordinance on November 12, 2012. The ordinance set an hourly rate of pay that employers must pay their workers for work performed within the City. See a brief history of minimum wage rates below:
