1, 2, and 3 of the County Island Annexation Program, respectively.
Blue boundaries represent County islands that are larger than 150
acres and are not part of the current program. Click on the boundary
of the County island in the map to obtain the name. Click on the
ID on the left to center on a particular County island.
Zoning designations outline
the allowable uses and development regulations such as allowable
desnities, building heights, and setbacks for a property. Before
annexation, zoning districts are designated for the area, which
will become effective upon annexation.
If a building or use was
legally built or operated in the County before annexation but does
not meet the new zoning regulations, it is generally 'grandfathered'
under the old rules and considered 'legal nonconforming'. Any subsequent
changes to the use or structure in this situation are regulated
under the
Chapter of the Zoning Ordinance for Nonconforming Uses.
