2011 General Plan Amendments

The City is not currently accepting amendment applications for the San Jose 2020 General Plan in anticipation of the adoption of a comprehensive General Plan update (Envision San Jose 2040) in October of this year.  Following adoption of the new General Plan, the City will again receive and process requests to amend the City's General Plan based upon the Envision San Jose 2040 General Plan.  As currently drafted, the Envision San Jose 2040 General Plan establishes an annual General Plan Hearing process that would commence in 2013.  The full draft of the Envison San Jose 2040 General Plan and related information is available on the Envision website at: http://www.sanjoseca.gov/planning/gp_update/default.asp

  • General Plan Comprehensive Update

Information on the ongoing comprehensive update to the City’s General Plan, “Envision San Jose 2040” is available here.
