Zoning Ordinance

Medical Marijuana Maps

The maps below are some draft iterations used in staff development and analysis of the proposed Medical Marijuana Ordinance.* In each case, the universe of potentially eligible sites consisted of those parcels zoned CG-Commercial General on the San Jose Zoning Map. Then, various distance separation criteria and land use types were tested and applied, as follows:

1. 1,000 feet from Residential (all) (7 MB)
2. 1,000 feet from Schools (3.5 MB)
3. 1,000 feet from Parks/Trails (5 MB)
4. 1,000 feet from Residential (single- and two-family only) (7 MB)
5. 1,000 feet from Residential (single- and two-family only) and Child Day Care (9.5 MB)
6. 1,000 feet from Residential (single- and two-family only), Schools, and Child Day Care (12.5 MB)
7. 500 feet from Residential (single- and two-family only) (11 MB)
8. 500 feet from Residential (multi-family only) (3.5 MB)
9. 500 feet from Schools and Parks/Trails (5.5 MB)
10. 500 feet from Residential (all), Schools, Parks/Trails, and Child Day Care (15.5 MB)

(*NOTE: some of the map file sizes are quite large, and may take considerable time to download using slower internet connection speeds. During download, you will notice that map objects appear and then gradually disappear, which is normal given the "masking" technique used in map preparation. If you experience problems, to help improve performance it is recommended that the files be saved and viewed locally).
