Citywide Aquatics

City's Aquatics Partnerships now Serving Seven Sites

The City’s summer aquatics program is now operational at six pool sites and Almaden Lake. Residents have a choice of swim lessons and recreational swim at Biebrach, Camden, Fair Swim Center, Mayfair and Rotary Ryland pools sites. Silver Creek High School pool is available for recreational swimming while Almaden Lake offers recreational swim and a beach setting. The City created a unique partnership with local non-profits, East Side Union High School District, California Sports Center and Sparkle Swim School, to ensure residents are able to enjoy water recreation this summer. Almaden Lake Park - Almaden Expressway & Coleman, 95123 | 408-277-5130

Almaden Lake features recreational open water swimming, triathlon (open water) swim training, boating and a sand beach. The Park includes a variety of playgrounds and water features. Volleyball, horseshoe pits, and bocce ball courts are all available on a first come first serve basis (it's strictly BYOE; Bring Your Own Equipment.) There are five reservable group picnic areas, suitable for 20 – 200 people, available by reservations including the Arroyo Picnic area which features a large covered section and seating for 200. There are other smaller picnic sites located throughout the park, many available on a first come, first serve basis. Almaden Lake Park is operated by the City of San Jose Parks Division. For reservation information, please call 408-277-2757. The Park is closed on Mondays.

Biebrach Pool - corner West Virginia St. & Delmas Ave, 95125

Max. Capacity - 100 persons
Minimum Height Requirement: 42”
Biebrach is located at the Gardner Community Center. It is a single-pool facility. The pool is 25 yards by 20 yards and has a depth of 3 1/2ft to 5ft. Pool operators are Sparkle Swim School. Camden Pool - 3369 Union Ave, 95124

Max. Capacity – 225 persons
Minimum Height Requirement: 42”
Camden pool is located in the Camden Community Center and is our only pool open year-round. It is a single-pool facility with shade structure. The pool is 25 yards by 20 yards and has a depth of 3 1/2ft to 12ft. It features a diving board and full locker room accessible from the pool deck. PRNS IS PROUD TO ANNOUNCE THE RE-OPENING OF THE CAMDEN POOL

Through collaboration with the Department of Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Services and Los Gatos-Saratoga Recreation, a new agreement has been reached to operate the Camden Community Center Pool beginning October 2011 through spring 2012.  This agreement addresses the gap in aquatic services due to recent budget impacts which would have resulted in the closure of the pool during the winter and spring seasons. LGS Recreation will operate Lap Swim, Swim Lessons, Water Aerobics, Water Yoga and Swim Team programs. The pool will reopen with a family-fun event on Saturday, October 1, 2011 at 8:00 p.m. featuring the premier of a Dive-In Movie entitled “Shark Tale”.  The Camden Community Center pool is located at 3369 Union Avenue San Jose 95124.  For more information, please contact Jessica Revino at LGS Recreation (408) 354-8700 or visit www.lgsrecreation.org.  

Fair Swim Center - 1350 Bacchus Dr., 95124

Max. Capacity – 342 persons
Minimum Height Requirement: 36”
Fair Swim Center is a multi-pool facility and features zero depth entry pool for toddlers, a slide pool with 3 water features, and a large lap pool with a depth of 3 1/2ft to 12ft. The swim center also features a large grass field, picnic area, a kitchen with serving doors to the pool deck and multiple shade structures. It's the perfect location for pool parties. Mayfair Pool - 2039 Kammerer Ave, 95116

Max. Capacity - 125 persons
Minimum Height Requirement: 36”
Mayfair, the newest addition to the City Wide Aquatics program, is a single-pool facility. The pool is 25 yards by 20 yards and has a varying depth from 3ft to 8ft. Located on the grounds of the elegant new Mayfair Community Center, the facilities include a water spray playground, community park and skate park. Rotary Ryland Pool - 421 North First St., 95112

Max. Capacity - 100
Minimum Height Requirement: 30”
Rotary Ryland is a single-pool facility. Located in Ryland Park, the pool was designed with our youngest swimmers in mind. It is circular and with a depth of two feet six inches to five feet in the center of the pool. Ryland Park is 3.2 acres, 12 picnic tables, 3 BBQs, 2 playgrounds, 2 basketball courts, 1 dog park, an exercise course and restrooms. Rotary Ryland pool is operated by California Sports Center.
