The next Tobacco Free Collaborative meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, January 20, 2009 from 1pm - 2pm at Breathe California located at 1469 Park Avenue in San Jose, 95126. At this meeting, we will discuss how Breathe California can help you in accomplishing your required tobacco activities.  In preparation for the meeting, please think about some different ideas about how you can accomplish your activities.

Weekday home delivery of hot nutritious meals to frail, elderly or disabled adults who are homebound.  Daily wellness checks when trained food drivers visit the client’s home.  A limited program of case management that connects clients with needed services and helps during a crisis.

YMCA ~ Project Cornerstone

Project Cornerstone is pleased to announce the call for nominations for the 2009 Asset Champions Awards! Asset champions are the individuals and organizations in our community that make extraordinary efforts to build developmental assets and create positive connections with young people, and inspire others to do the same. Winners will be honored at Project Cornerstone's Asset Champions Awards Breakfast on March 19, 2009. The deadline for nominations is Friday, November 7, 2008. Awards will be given in the following categories:
Positive Cultural Identity
Adult Role Model
Positive Peer Influence (Because this award recognizes positive peer influence among young people, both the nominator and nominee must be 24 years old or younger)
Community Values Youth
Caring School Climate
(Individual awards will be presented to elementary, middle, and high schools)
