Permitted Exception to the Ordinance

The prohibition on street construction during Peak Commute hours shall not apply when the Construction Activity is performed under a valid City permit issued by the Director of Public Works, the Director of Streets and Traffic, or the Director of Environmental Services which expressly grants an exception to the prohibition.

Project Manager should report a Permitted Exception to Public Works, Utilities Permit Section in advance of the work actually performed, so that staff may respond to a report of complaint of street lane closure expediently and efficiently.  City or RDA staff to report an permitted exception, please click here.

For more information on how to obtain a City permit for street construction on an Arterial street during peak commuting hours, please go to the City contacts page by clicking here.
