Management Fellow Program

Recent Management Fellows
Recent San José Management Fellow Alumni

As a signature succession planning program for more than twenty years, the City's Management Fellowship Program is designed to attract highly credentialed talent to the organization to begin their careers in local government. Generally Management Fellows are recent graduates of Masters programs in Public Administration or Public Policy, equipped with advanced research and analytical skills, and offering a diversity of professional focus areas—from finance to community organizing to economic development to public safety. Fellows apply those skills and backgrounds to various high-level, special City projects over the course of approximately one year, rotating through up to four different departments. The Program boasts a strong retention record as Fellows successfully compete for permanent positions at the City.
