Adopt-A-Park & Adopt-A-Trail
Adopt-A-Park(AAP) and Adopt-A-Trail (AAT) are citywide volunteer programs that recruit and train residents to assist in the general care and maintenance of neighborhood parks, trails, and other parkland on City property. AAP/AAT also educates the public about creating and preserving clean and safe parks and trails for everyone. AmeriCorp VISTA
City of San José works in collaboration with AmeriCorps VISTA to fight poverty. Each year the City's Housing Department hosts several VISTA interns to work in the Homeless Division and help the disadvantage communities in San José. CommUniverCity
CommUniverCity San José is a collaboration of Communities of Five Wounds and Brookwood Terrace, San José State University and the City of San José. For the past several years, CommUniverCity San José has concentrated a variety of San José State University student service projects in these neighborhoods, and significant neighbor participation, quality of life improvements and useful research have resulted. DOE Solar America Cities Program
The City of San José was one of the 25 cities awarded by the DOE (US Department of Energy) received a combined $4.9 million in financial support, as well as on-site technical and policy assistance. Falcon City

Green Vision

Mayor’s Gang Prevention Task Force (MGPTF)
The Mayor’s Gang Prevention Task Force (MGPTF) is a highly collaborative network organized to prevent, intervene, and supress gangs in San José. Schools/City Collaborative
The Schools/City Collaborative includes the superintendents of 19 school districts, San José Mayor Chuck Reed, Councilwoman Judy Chirco, City Manager's Office, and representatives from the police and other city departments. They have formed committees to tackle school safety, teacher recruitment and volunteering. |

Silicon Valley Energy Watch
Silicon Valley Energy Watch is the City’s partnership program with PG&E to deliver energy efficiency education, outreach, targeted savings, and market transformation to the whole of Santa Clara County.
