The City of San Jose’s Housing Department is applying for the U.S Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Pathways to Removing Obstacles to Housing (PRO Housing) grant and we invite members of the public to review the application and provide comment. The application in its entirety is available at on our HUD PRO Housing Application page. The public comment period is open through October 20th, 2023. 

The purpose of the PRO Housing grant is to identify and remove barriers to affordable housing production and preservation. PRO Housing is the first program of its kind to be administered by a federal agency. The Housing Department is applying for a program that would support San Jose’s efforts to support the preservation of low-cost housing through an acquisition and rehabilitation program.
