Jason: Finding Housing After Incarceration

Jason is an inspiring success story from the City's interim housing program.

Jason went through a tough stretch when he was younger. He spent time in the justice system, making it difficult to move forward in a positive way. Fortunately, Jason was able to find a place to stay in the City's Mabury interim housing community.

While there, Jason made use of many supportive services. These included job search assistance, which helped him land a full-time job in construction, and case management to help him connect with medical services, keep up with court appointments, and search for permanent housing.

In early 2024, Jason got the news he'd wanted to hear for years: one of his housing applications was accepted. He was moving into his own apartment! It would have been easy for people to give up on Jason, but he just needed a helping hand. He is now self-sufficient and contributing to our community.

Congratulations Jason!
