The City of San José Offers Two Dental Insurance Plans

Reminder! Dependent children may remain on a City employee's dental coverage up until the age of 24 years old, regardless of student status. Full-time student verification documentation will no longer be required once a dependent reaches the age of 19 years old. Dependents enrolled in the DeltaCare HMO plan may remain on the coverage until the they reach the age of 26 years old.
A Dental in-Lieu Plan is available for employees who have alternate coverage through another group dental plan. For more information, refer to the details in the Dental In Lieu Plan Document.
Cost
Employee and City contribution amounts are subject to change each year in January in accordance with contract renewals. Employee contributions toward monthly premiums are determined by the applicable Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for the specific bargaining unit or according to the Benefit and Compensation Summary.

Eligibility
All full-time and part-time benefited employees are eligible to enroll themselves and their eligible dependents in one of the City’s dental plans.
