Camp San José

At Camp San José, campers will participate in an unforgettable summer day camp experience combining summer camp traditions with enrichment and educational activities. Campers play crazy fun games, sports, create cool arts and crafts projects, sing funny songs, and embark on a weekly field trip. Activities incorporate educational features disguised in fun and entertaining activities and projects. Price includes a low leader to child ratio of 1:10, field trips, a Camp San José shirt, skill building, new friendships, disguised learning and much more! 

Families opting not to participate in field trips are responsible for finding alternative care for their child(ren) not attending the trip. The City will not provide a prorated refund for those that elect not to participate, nor will onsite care be available.

Campers need to bring water, lunch* and sunscreen each day. *Check with your local community center for a complete list of field trips, lunch programs, scholarships, and payment plans. Each Camp San José session runs for 1 week. 

*Safety is our main priority, please communicate any medical or special accommodations before the start of camp. Notify the center staff on the registration form, emergency form and send the camp supervisor an email with the accommodation information request. 

2024-2025 Break Camp Information

During the school year, Camp San José may be offered at community center locations to Fall break, Thanksgiving break, December holiday breaks, February break, and Spring break.

Program Information

Camp San José is available at multiple locations throughout San José and runs weekly camps Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. for youth ages 5 –12. There is no camp on two City holidays: Juneteenth and Fourth of July. 

Summer 2025 Registration Information

Priority Registration for scholarship-eligible families begins in person at participating Community Centers in mid-February 2025. General registration opens in person and online at SJRegistration.com in late February 2025.

Payment Options 

The weekly cost for Summer 2025 for San José residents and non-residents will be made available in January 2025. 

Flexible payment plan options are available. Scholarship-eligible families can reserve a spot for $25 per week of camp, and non-scholarship families can reserve a spot for $50 per week per camp. Final payment is due three weeks before the first day of camp.

Scholarship Information 

Scholarships are awarded as funding is available. Submit a completed 2025 scholarship application to any Community Center, starting in November 2024. Completion of the scholarship application does not guarantee approval of a scholarship. Learn more at the Citywide Scholarship Program Webpage

At Camp San José Jr., your child will participate in an unforgettable summer camp! We combine camp traditions with a wide variety of enrichment and educational activities. Children will have the opportunity to create cool art projects, play games and sing funny songs. Camp San José Jr. includes skill-building, making new friendships, and much more! Campers need to bring water, lunch, and sunscreen each day. Each Camp San José Jr. session runs for one (1) week. *Safety is our main priority, and we will continue to follow all Santa Clara County and the State of California guidelines. Please keep your child home if they are displaying any signs of illness and report the absence to the campsite that your child is registered in.

Camp San José Jr is available at multiple locations throughout San José and runs weekly camps Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.* for youth ages 3 –5. There is no camp on two City holidays, Juneteenth and Fourth of July. *Times may vary by location.

F.I.T. Camp

Get outdoors and have some fun! F.I.T. Camp offers fitness activities, enrichment, fun interactive games, and a healthy cooking club. 

Join us at F.I.T. Camp, a weeklong camp where your kids will develop a balanced approach of knowledge, skills, and confidence to be physically active for a lifetime! Campers will learn healthy habits from our leaders who use an evidence-based curriculum. This summer, your kids will build friendships, grow their confidence, and benefit from outdoor activities. Price includes a low leader-to-child ratio of 1:10, a F.I.T. Camp shirt, skill building, new friendships, disguised learning, and much more!

Summer Food Service Program

The Summer Food Service Program provides campers with free, nutritious lunch and snack daily. Please check back in Spring 2025 for all sites that will participate in the Summer Food Service Program in Summer 2025. 

Acceptance and participation requirements for the Summer Food Service Program and all activities are the same for all children regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability, and there will be no discrimination in the course of the meal service.
