PG&E Electric Heat Pumps for Domestic Space and Water Heating: Applications and Considerations

As our electric supply becomes cleaner due to increased use of renewables, electricity becomes an attractive fuel source to designers and builders interested in reducing residential greenhouse gas emissions and creating zero net energy buildings. This all-day class will focus on efficiency gains, emissions reduction, advantages and limitations, available technology and refrigerant types for heat pump systems. This class will provide an overview of electric heat pumps for space heating including both ducted and ductless systems. The space heating discussion will also cover the Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) issues and considerations for building enclosures. In addition, the use of Heat pumps for water heating will be introduced and discussed. Other water heating strategies such as solar thermal and recirculation systems will be compared as well.

Free. Small breakfast and lunch will be provided.

Registration required as space is limited. Please register here: http://usi.pge.com/event-details?EventID=20693
