The Department of Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Services will be providing recommended activities to do within the comfort of your home through the Virtual Recreation Center.

Mindfulness Monday Activities

Mindfulness means being present, aware of your actions, and not feeling overly reactive or overwhelmed by what’s going on around you. Here's some recommended activities related to mindfulness:

LIVE Zumba Gold with Volunteer Instructor Jamie

Monday, 6/15 at 5 p.m. 

"Ditch the workout, Join the party!" Join Volunteer Instructor Jamie every Monday at 10:00 a.m. Dance, socialize, and burn lots of calories with this fun modifies Zumba option for active older adults. Zumba Gold recreates all the same Zumba moves you know and love with lower intensity and lower impact while still focusing on balance, range of motion, and coordination. Thought Bubbles:Mindfulness for kids
Mindfulness for kids Jaime from Cosmic Kids explains how thoughts work. They're a bit like bubbles - they come and go! POP! Have fun understanding how your thinking works - and learn that every thought just passes by, like a bubble.
Yoga For Stress Management with Adriene
Bridge the gap between mind and body. This 32-minute yoga practice session is great for those needing to find balance and calm. This practice is also GREAT for preventative care.
