QuaranTeen: Sweet Potato Fries |
While staying at home, did you discover that you love to cook/bake or did you create a new, healthy dish while under quarantine? San Jose Public Library is putting together a collection of favorite recipes all submitted by teens. It can be anything from a simple snack to a full on, complex, Master Chef-level submission. To enter your recipe, fill out the QuaranTeen Recipes Form and send an optional photo of the dish to TeenHQ@sjlibrary.org
Sweet Potato Fries Why Make This? Are you missing sweet potato fries from your favorite boba tea shop? You can make your own version at home in the oven! Sweet potatoes are super nutritious, and these fries are very easy to make. I love these fries, and they are quite versatile. I make them with salt and pepper, so I can eat them with different sauces (ketchup, thai sweet chili sauce, ranch, etc.); but you can experiment using all sorts of seasonings! You can toss them with taco seasoning, italian, cajun, or everything but the bagel. You can even use pumpkin pie spice or cinnamon with brown sugar to make them sweet.

The Guessing Game

A preschooler's brain thrives on imagination - and that's what makes this activity so much fun. By hiding an object in a bag or sock, kids need to think creatively when figuring out what's inside!
