The Department of Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Services will be providing recommended activities to do within the comfort of your home through the Virtual Recreation Center.

Mindfulness Monday Activities

Mindfulness means being present, aware of your actions, and not feeling overly reactive or overwhelmed by what’s going on around you. Here's some recommended activities related to mindfulness:

LIVE Zumba Gold with Volunteer Instructor Jamie

Monday, 7/20 at 10 a.m. 

"Ditch the workout, Join the party!" Join Volunteer Instructor Jamie every Monday at 10:00 a.m. Dance, socialize, and burn lots of calories with this fun modifies Zumba option for active older adults. Zumba Gold recreates all the same Zumba moves you know and love with lower intensity and lower impact while still focusing on balance, range of motion, and coordination. Let's Get Creative: Art That Calms How do we tune out and tune into our inner calm? Let’s explore how art can help find a meditative state and shut out all the worry. By practicing repetitive lines, we’ll tap into creative self-expression to reach a state of relaxation.
