Toddler Fun: Kitchen Science — Sink and Float (VIETNAMESE)

Video is in Vietnamese, but you can follow along at home! Buoyancy is the scientific principle that describes objects floating on top of a body of water, whether it’s a lake, a pond, or a pot in your kitchen. Test objects in your kitchen and house for buoyancy!

 

Materials Needed:

  • Items that sink
    • Metal spoon
    • Metal toy car
    • Coffee mug
    • Golf ball
    • Water bottle (full)
    • Crayon
  • Items that float
    • Plastic spoon
    • Plastic toy car
    • Aluminum foil
    • Paper cup
    • Tennis ball
    • Pencil
  • Container to do the experiment in
    • Plastic tub / basin / pot / bucket
  • Optional materials: 
    • Fruits: orange / tomato / cherry / apple and/or apricot
Energy Red Light, Green Light
This activity is a fun exploration of energy concepts for children 5 to 9 , and can be used as their exercise/outside time for the day too!
