2020 Construction Academy – ‘Building Our City Together with Our Community’: The City of San José Public Works Construction Academy (formerly known as the Public Works Academy) is hosting multiple free educational events this summer and fall to inform and educate construction contractors on contracting with the City. Opportunity Awareness Events will be hosted on August 12 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. and on September 2 from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. via Zoom. Construction contractors and design consultants are encouraged to attend and become familiar with City construction contracting programs and learn about upcoming contracting opportunities. In addition, the Construction Academy will host its Construction Contracting Seminar Series from September 23 to October 28, from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m. via Zoom. The seminar series will educate contractors on the basics of bidding and managing a public works contract. Attendance in all six seminars fulfills requirements for the Minor Public Works Contract Pre-Qualification Program.
This program is FREE, so register today. The registration deadline for the Opportunity Awareness Events is August 7 and the deadline for the Construction Contracting Seminar Series is September 16. Zoom details will be provided upon registration confirmation.
