Cannabis Business Ordinance Update, Community Meeting, Project PP21-002

Meeting Purpose:  To inform the public about possible changes to the San José Municipal Code and other regulations governing Cannabis Businesses. These updates would change the specific use regulations and zoning requirements for Cannabis Businesses. Comments, concerns, and questions raised at this meeting will become part of the public record and will help inform the project’s design as it moves forward in the review process.

 

Proposed project: PP21-002

Present the current proposal for updating regulations on Cannabis Businesses which seeks to address the City Council's direction on "City Council Priority #7 - Review of Cannabis Land Use and Regulatory Provisions." The proposal involves updates to the following regulations:

  • The Zoning Ordinance, which addresses where cannabis businesses may locate in the city;
  • Title 6 of the San José Municipal Code, which addresses how cannabis businesses may operate; and
  • City Manager Regulations for Medical and Non-Medical Cannabis, which addresses how many cannabis businesses may be established.
