  • Date: 01/13/2022 (all day)
Lohri is a popular Punjabi winter harvest festival celebrated by Sikhs and Hindus in the Punjab region of the Indian subcontinent. The festival marks the end of winter and is a traditional welcome of longer days and the sun's journey to the northern hemisphere. The festival is celebrated by lighting bonfires at sunset. Sweets, sugarcane and rice are thrown on the bonfires and friends and relatives gather together, singing and dancing till the fire dies out. The festival is also celebrated by the Punjabi Indian diaspora around the world, including in the U.S.A.
