Meeting Purpose:
To describe the applicant’s proposed project, the City’s review process, and to obtain community input on the project located on the northeast corner of South 1st Street and East William Street at 490 South 1st Street. Comments, concerns, and questions raised at this meeting will become part of the public record and will help inform the project’s design as it moves forward in the review process. There are continued opportunities throughout the permit process to publicly comment on the project as illustrated in the permit process chart below.
Proposed project:
Conforming Zoning (C20-008) to rezone the property from the PQP Public/Quasi-Public District to the DC Downtown Primary Commercial District on an approximately 0.44-gross acre site.
Conditional Use Permit (CP20-008) to allow the demolition of an existing theater building, the removal of four ordinance-size trees, and the construction of a new mixed-use building with 144 hotel rooms, 18,000 square feet of performance theater/auditorium space, and one level of below-grade parking.
