National Sovereignty and Children's Day commemorates the foundation of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey on April 23, 1920. It is dedicated to all children of the world and every year, the children in Turkey celebrate it as a national holiday. In the Bay area, it is celebrated by the Turkish diaspora as an International Children's Day, uniting and celebrating world cultures through food, fun and dance.
