Meeting Purpose:

Join us in creating the Capitol Caltrain Station Area Plan that will guide future development next to the Capitol Caltrain Station. The area is envisioned with commercial and residential development. This will be the first of two community workshops. The workshops are designed so that everyone can share their ideas about the future of this area.

The first workshop will include a visioning exercise, where we will identify the opportunities and constraints for future development in this area. Attendees will learn about existing conditions as well as the current efforts of the City and the Monterey Corridor Working Group to beautify and improve Monterey Road. Come share your ideas and concerns and help us envision the future of this neighborhood.

6:05 – 6:35:   Capitol Caltrain Station Area Plan: Overview – City of San José
Learn about city-wide transit area plans and get answers to frequently asked questions. Listen to a review of the Capitol Caltrain Station Area project and find out how your input will help create a vision for the future!

6:35 – 8:00:   Small Group Discussion & Mapping – All
Break into small groups and discuss future opportunities and constraints for development in the Station Area. Each breakout group will have a discussion facilitator and a notetaker from the Planning Department. Topics to discuss will include urban design, open space, and transportation.
