Meeting Purpose: To discuss the applicant’s proposed project, the City’s project and environmental review processes, to obtain community input, and provide an overview of issues to be discussed in the Environmental Impact Report (EIR) analysis to comply with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) relative to the Santana Row Planned Development Zoning located at 301 Santana Row. Comments, concerns, and questions raised at this meeting will become part of the public record and will help refine the project as it moves forward in the review process. Public input on the scope of the EIR is encouraged so that the review addresses all relevant environmental issues. The Notice of Preparation (NOP) for the EIR is being circulated for public review and comment on the proposed scope of work from Wednesday November 9, 2022 to Monday December 12, 2022 at 5:00 p.m. and is available on the City’s Environmental Review, Active EIRs webpage under the project name and file number PDC22-004 at the following link: https://www.sanjoseca.gov/your-government/departments-offices/planning-building-code-enforcement/planning-division/environmental-review/environmental-review-documents#ActiveEIRs. Verbal comments on the NOP will be accepted at the community meeting and written comments will be accepted until 5:00 p.m. on Monday December 12, 2022. There are continued opportunities throughout the permit process to publicly comment on the project and EIR as illustrated in the permit process chart below.
Proposed Project: Planned Development Zoning to modify the General Development Plan to allow up to approximately 2,760,038 square feet of commercial square footage (existing and proposed), allow late night use at a portion of Santana Row, permanently close vehicular access on Santana Row between Olin and Olsen Avenues, allow a common alcohol consumption zone, and make additional minor site improvements on an approximately 42.53-gorss acre site.
