Proposed Site Development Permit and Vesting Tentative Map at 210 Baypointe Parkway, Community Meeting, Project Nos. H22-037, T22-035 & ER22-234

Meeting Purpose:  To discuss the applicant’s proposed project, the City’s project and environmental review processes, to obtain community input, and provide an overview of issues to be discussed in the Environmental Impact Report (EIR) analysis to comply with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) relative to the Site Development Permit and Vesting Tentative Map located at 210 Baypointe Parkway. Comments, concerns, and questions raised at this meeting will become part of the public record and will help refine the project as it moves forward in the review process. Public input on the scope of the EIR is encouraged so that the review addresses all relevant environmental issues. The Notice of Preparation (NOP) for the EIR is being circulated for public review and comment on the proposed scope of work from Monday December 12, 2022 to Monday January 16, 2023 at 5:00 p.m. and is available on the City’s Environmental Review, Active EIRs webpage under the project name (Baypointe Residential Project Development Project) and File Numbers (H22-037 & T22-035) at the following link: https://www.sanjoseca.gov/your-government/departments-offices/planning-building-code-enforcement/planning-division/environmental-review/environmental-review-documents/baypointe-residential-development-project.  Verbal comments on the NOP will be accepted at the community meeting and written comments will be accepted until 5:00 p.m. on Monday January 16, 2023. There are continued opportunities throughout the permit process to publicly comment on the project and EIR as illustrated in the permit process chart below.

Proposed Project: Site Development Permit to allow the demolition of an existing 67,045-square foot commercial building and the removal of 105 trees (40 ordinance-size, 65 non-ordinance-size) for the construction of seven-story, 292-unit multifamily apartment building and 42 townhouses with a Vesting Tentative Map to subdivide one lot into seven lots and allow up to 42 residential condominiums on an approximately 4.30-gross acre site.
