Join us in San José City Hall’s majestic Rotunda for music, greetings from Ukrainian leaders and a word from San José’s new mayor Matt Mahan, in a show of solidarity for Ukraine’s resolve and strength in the face of this assault on their sovereignty and culture.
We’ll move outside to raise the Ukrainian flag, where it will fly through the weekend; light City Hall in Ukrainian colors; and enjoy a performance by Ukrainian artists Igor Osypov and Yakiv Tsvietinskyi at the sound-reactive Sonic Runway light installation at City Hall Plaza.
The program starts promptly at 5:45pm. Please RSVP to help us ensure adequate seating for all. The program and outdoor activities will end in time for you and the artists to make the downbeat of our GEORGE performance at the Tabard Theatre.
From 5:30–6:30 the exhibition “Jazz Shadows: A Decade of San Jose Jazz” will be on view in the adjacent City Hall Wing behind the Rotunda. This spectacular selection of photographs were taken by renowned photographer Robert Birnbach at various San Jose Jazz festivals and venues from 2012 to 2022.
Validated parking is available at the City Hall Parking Garage on 6th Street. Validation machines will be available as you exit the elevator to attend the event and near the City Hall Rotunda.
