The City of San José is hosting a public meeting on its Green Stormwater Infrastructure Plan. The City is eager to inform the community about the upcoming plan. This plan will guide the City’s implementation of green stormwater infrastructure, which uses vegetation, soils and natural systems to manage water and create healthier urban environments.
Green stormwater infrastructure employs physical, biological and chemical processes to remove pollutants from stormwater runoff, protecting our waterways. Other community benefits of green stormwater infrastructure can include improved water and air quality, reduced flooding, increased water supply, enhanced wildlife habitat and traffic safety improvements.
Green stormwater infrastructure also supports the goals of Climate Smart San José, the City’s community-wide initiative to reduce air pollution, save water and improve quality of life.
