The Department of Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Services, in collaboration with the California Native Plant Society, is hosting volunteer events at Alum Rock Park every third Saturday. Volunteers learn how to plant and identify native plants, remove invasive species and enjoy a hike up to Inspiration Point or Todd Quick Memorial Trail. Arrive early at the Penitencia Creek entrance and follow the “Volunteer Event” signs to the parking lot. Participants are encouraged to bring a filled water bottle, wear closed-toe shoes, hat, dress in layers, and wear sunscreen. For more information, please contact (408) 259-5477.
