The Department of Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Services’ Volunteer Management Unit hosts the first Community Volunteer Day of May at the Municipal Rose Garden. Assist in basic landscaping tasks that will help prepare the Rose Garden for Mother's Day – one of its busiest days of the year. Please wear closed-toe shoes and bring a filled water bottle. Participants are encouraged to bring a filled water bottle, wear closed-toe shoes, hat, dress in layers (long sleeves and pants are recommended to protect against rose thorns), and wear sunscreen. All tools and training will be provided. No pre-registration required. The event goes on rain or shine. For more information, please contact Mollie Tobias, Volunteer Program Manager, at (408) 595-3483.
