  • Webinar on Rent-Increase Moratorium: The Housing Department is hosting a webinar about the rent-increase moratorium on Wednesday, May 6 at 4:00 p.m. You can join the webinar by clicking sanjoseca.zoom.us/j/98002042658.   • Historic Landmarks Commission: The Historic Landmarks Commission meeting scheduled for Wednesday, May 6 at 6:30 p.m. will be held using a Zoom conference call that is open to the public and enables public comments.   • #GivingTuesdayNow - A Global Day of Unity and Giving: #GivingTuesdayNow is a global day of giving and unity that takes place on May 5 as an emergency response to the unprecedented need caused by COVID-19. At a time when we are all experiencing the many negative effects of the pandemic, generosity gives us an opportunity to come together as a community. It gives us the power to make a positive change in the lives of others.  If you have the capacity to give, please donate now to your favorite nonprofit organizations directly or to the Silicon Valley Strong Fund

Updates from the County of Santa Clara: 

  • New Community Testing Site Added in East San José: The County of Santa Clara, in collaboration with OptumServe, has added a new COVID-19 testing site at James Lick High School in East San José. Testing at the site is by appointment only. To schedule an appointment, individuals can call 888-634-1123 or visit lhi.care/covidtesting. The screening and testing criteria are based on State of California guidelines and may be updated to reflect the latest guidance. The site will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with the capacity to serve up to 132 individuals daily. OptumServe, a health services business, is working with the State to increase testing in underserved communities throughout California.
